As the Social Media Designer and Lead for the State of Delaware’s official channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X), my role has been to make state government communications accessible, engaging, and relevant for Delawareans.
Once the State of Delaware’s new Design System visual branding was complete, I began implementing it throughout the state’s social channel content. I also developed a new strategy for what content the State of Delaware social channels should focus on.

My ultimate goal was to post about news happening within the state, resources, agency highlights, newly passed House and Senate bills, public events, and overall important information that can improve Delawareans' lives.

PRESS RELEASES:
The most streamlined way I discovererd to get information out there from Delaware State agencies is elevating the press releases on news.delaware.gov. By redesigning them for social, I was able to make them more digestible and visually engaging for someone who may be scrolling on their feed.

This allowed us to cover a wide range of topics in a single template. Once we began regularly posting press release content, Instagram gained 3k+ new followers and saw improved engagement on resource-driven posts.
EMERGENCY WEATHER RESOURCES:
2025 brought mutiple disruptive winter storms that impacted the East Coast and brought the heaviest snowfall accumulation that Delaware has not seen in years. I created social posts lifting Delaware resources and information from multiple DE agencies, including DelDot and DEMA, to better equip and prepare residents for these storms.
SENATE & HOUSE BILLS:
These are graphics I created to help Delawareans understand recently passed House or Senate bills. I noticed that many times these bills are linked to  legis.delaware.gov or through Press Releases. I wanted to create graphics that could be shareable and easy to digest for Delawareans.

STREAMLINED COLLABORATION:
I collaborated with my team to design and implement a submission form that makes it easy for state agencies to request our social channels to post or share information about resources, events, and initiatives within their departments.

This helped us lift information about SNAP Benefits, Social Services opening up facilities for both warming and cooling stations on extremely hot and cold days,  election information, and much more.
HONORABLE MENTION:

Aubrey Plaza April Fools Post:
For April Fools ' Day, our team decided to have some fun by spotlighting one of Delaware’s most famous figures, Aubrey Plaza. The posts sparked major engagement across our platforms and even caught the attention of Ms. Plaza herself, who responded!
